About Us

Our history...

The Yard at Stansted is owned by Glasscocks Properties Ltd.  Daniel Robinson, a builder and great grandfather of the current management team operated Daniel Robinson and Sons from 1895 in Stansted, first developing the Yard at the turn of the 20th century.

In 1902 he acquired J L Glasscocks another building company based in Bishop's Stortford. Daniel and his team made their own bricks, and at the Stansted Yard, fabricated all wooden joinery from whole trees which were sawn on the huge sawbench, and other commodities, and they built many of the historic buildings in and around Stansted and Bishop's Stortford.

Diversifying

Daniel Robinson and Sons Ltd still trades as an independent funeral director in the nearby counties. In 1976 Glasscocks Properties Ltd was founded to manage commercial and residential property resulting from the original business. We are proud to now offer good quality places for our Tenants and Lessees to live and work. Although our commercial buildings date back to 1905 we are determined to offer good quality up to date facilities to those that choose to work along side us.
